J.D. has always had a competitive streak. In the early years
skiing for Ski Club Vail, he found the Downhill
Event was his specialty. The speed and competition
made his smile even brighter. He Later went on to compete
in the Junior Olympics of 2006.
With Ski season over Fall 06, he immediately started competitive
karting that summer.
The
thrill of the shifter karts brought out a whole new world
for J.D. At the age of 14 he
started a lawn mowing business to help fund
his new sport. Karting success led to Skip Barber Racing
School, where the step up to cars started the racing dream.
His first opportunity to race in a series was at the age
of 17 in the Miller Motorsports
Mustang Series where his rookie season of 5 races he won
4 poles, two 1st place, and two 2nd place finishes.
2009
brought a unique opportunity to try and race on a factory
team. Competing over a 4 day session at Infineon Raceway, JD was selected to race for the
VW 2009 Jetta Cup Series.
